Wallpaper XII: A day in the office

Hello all.
Being a full-time college student, one would think that the busy schedule would stop once summer started....
this has not been the case. ugh. So, in three months i have made one desktop. most unsatisfactory. That being said, it's kinda cool lookin. I managed to do a lot of reading this summer and this kinda reflected that. Plus, my friend and i have been writing a novel (via email) which has taken up a lot of my creativity.

So. As it appears, just like with everything else i once did, i have neglected this site once again. Why?

because college sucks.

My course load is horrible, and i truly feel like i'm at the bottom of a well. But, once i've turned in term papers and finals and have the summer in front of my computer i will be able to once again be creative. :(
that said, i do have a new wallpaper :D it's posted below.

the DRESDEN DOLLS remain to be my favorite. and i'm unsure of how many times i've used their lyrics for something or another (hell, their music was my inspiration for my journal) but here's one dedicated to them. I've actually made this one twice, there's another version without the two heads, so if you like that better, ya know, just let me know. i didn't see a point in posting them both.

HOORAY! 3rd vector-y, song-inspired wallpaper. So far this one's my favorite.
This one is taken from the song "Bold as Love" by Jimi Hendrix....however i didn't fall in love with that version, but the awesome version by John Mayer.

The sheet music is not accurate, i should mention. So i wouldn't recommend playing it, bbs.

Let me just say, I love Pink martini. I think they're just smart and really fuel for the creative process. And while creating this, I must've listened to the entire Hang on Little Tomato album at least a dozen times.

The next 3 that i'm posting don't have any of the newer images i've acquired. more vector-y. its an interesting contrast. This one came as the leftovers for a different one i'm fixing. you'll see it later. lyrics came from "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", by the Beatles. and i'm sure there's more i could do to the image, but i'm just too lazy. :p

Let it be known this is not my normal stuff.
This was done for my brother, who is a Comic Hero FREAK and has been talking about The Dark Knight for months. He needed a new desktop. i provided.
The only cool bit is that 2 of the pictures, (the cityscape and capt. america) are actual pictures i took @ universal studios.

This took me the better part of my day.

ok, do not let the title confuse you. this one really has no theme, but instead is a reference to the lyrics used in it, "Shores of California" by the Dresden Dolls. It was done kinda hurriedly, in fact its the one i like the least. I had this whole, "mad men" theme, like the tv show, and that so didn't work out so i scrapped the idea and stuck together what i did have.

whatever. it's alright i guess. see for yourselves.

This last one i finished today, and also, very proud of. I was inspired by the photo called "Kissing on VJ Day, Times Square, May 8th 1945". Trust me, you've seen it. I also wanted to use a couple of pin-up girls that inspired my journal :D

I promise, the icons will continue, but i just got a huge image set that i wanted to use. besides, sometimes working on a grand scale is fun. :)

wallpaper no. 2 is a french theme. Tres Chouette.

And yes, i realize one of the images is from Singin' in the Rain. At the time, i thought it was from American in Paris, hence the usage. but, since i couldn't find a picture like it that i could use, i decided to go with it. whatever. lol

So something a little different, i'm adding wallpapers in addition to the icons.

I've always made my own desktop, just because i think it's way more personal and neat-lookin'. Most of them contain my own pictures, and those i will not be uploading, but my newer ones aren't so...me, we'll call it, and i've decided to share. :D

the first one is a Wizard of Oz~ish theme, very simple. The other two? not so simple.
oh, and i should mention that they're 1440x900, since thats the dimensions for my own monitor.

For those who have yet to see it, Hulu.com has made it incredibly easy. (and for those of you who bought it on iTunes, prepare to be a teeny bit irritated)

The Phantom Returns! Why? because these caps were just too good & pretty to waste them.
now, i will be adding more in little bits, to equate to the 50+ that i've included in other movie sets. In addition, i've deleted the old post and re-added the older icons. yes i could've just edited it, but who would see the pretty new ones?

also, i've decided my next set will be for "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog". if you've never heard of it, i suggest IMMEDIATELY looking it up and buying it on iTunes. srsly.

Hooray for the Serenity Set! 60 images from the film, I was very excited to finish this these, they turned out rather well. I think when i return from vacation i'm going to expand on the POTO movie set, because i have a ton more caps to work with and it just looks incomplete.
As with all my movie sets, it's in chronological order and a horrible abuse of tiny-text.

i'm just adding all my icons in sections according to what kind they are. Some of which will be WAAY to big to post in just general groups, so i'll separate those accordingly. Naturally, since its all my icons, the quality will go from sucky to not so sucky,but you get the idea.

So, it would appear that i have not updated in....46 weeks. that's 8 weeks shy of a full year. lol
well, i've been at college, and term papers have a tendency to be masters of time suckage.

anywho! I bring a multitude of tv images, most of which related to either Bones, the Office, House, & LOST. There's a few movies there at the end, as well. :) I've not done this in a LONG time, so they will not be as spectacular as my POTO set (which was pretty much stellar lol )

This is the old journal of hope_slayer , i just thought it was time for a change :)
